President Donald Trump called for the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner to be put to “rest” after a controversial roast by comedian Michelle Wolf on Saturday night. “The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a failure last year, but this year was an embarrassment to everyone associated with it,” Trump tweeted late Sunday. “The filthy ‘comedian’ totally bombed (couldn’t even deliver her lines-much like the Seth Meyers weak performance).”“Put Dinner to rest, or start over!” he concluded. Trump did not attend the event but sent White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in his stead. Wolf has drawn both condemnation and admiration for her brunt, brutal jokes about Sanders and Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway.
