Trump-Biden Debates: 3 Matchups, With Solo Moderators

Last week, at a rally in New Hampshire, Mr. Trump taunted Mr. Wallace for “a lack of talent” and compared the anchor unfavorably with his father, the “60 Minutes” legend Mike Wallace, who died in 2012. In August, Mr. Trump’s lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, sent a list of 24 journalists “for consideration” by the debate commission. No journalist from CNN — the news organization that is arguably the most frequent target of Mr. Trump’s attacks on journalists — made the cut this year. Page, of USA Today, is a veteran White House journalist who has covered six presidential administrations and wrote a biography of Barbara Bush. An average of 74 million people watched the three matchups between Mr. Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016, by far the candidates’ biggest live audience of the campaign.
