Provided that the new AHP rules could allow up to four million Americans to see lower premiums, the court decision was disappointing. In his ruling, the judge claimed that AHPs created under the new Department of Labor (DOL) rules are commercial insurance. Third, expanded access to affordable private health insurance is a good thing—not a bad thing.
