Trump’s First 100 Days: Who will pay for the wall?

It’s been just a week, but President Trump is setting up a showdown with Mexico over who will pay to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. “We will never ever pay for that [expletive] wall,” former Mexican president Vicente Fox Quesada tweeted Thursday. The rift worsened after White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that a 20 percent import tax on goods manufactured in Mexico would pay for the wall. After Trump ordered construction of the wall and ramped up talk of who will pay, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto called off a trip to Washington that was scheduled for next week. May will become the first foreign leader to visit Trump’s White House when, on Friday, she participates in a bilateral meeting, working lunch and news conference with the new president.
