In recent days, CBC.ca and the Guardian newspaper have noted that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau plays the media like a fiddle with pre-arranged photo-ops and stunts. Or rather, two columnists from these media organizations did, meaning their employers’ practice of falling for pre-arranged stunts by Trudeau — along with the rest of the global media, present company included — will continue unabated. That’s an unusual thing for a left-wing journalistic entrepreneur to say, compared to, for example, Canadaland’s mirror image – Ezra Levant’s right-wing Rebel Media – where such an observation would have sparked the comment, “tell us something we haven’t said for years.”(I appear once every two weeks on Rebel Media, commenting mainly on energy and climate change issues, for which I receive a small honorarium.) A “photo bomb” means inserting yourself unexpectedly into someone else’s photo, the exact opposite of what Trudeau did. Adoring Trudeau media, kindly note.
