However, on reaching nearer, they noticed nearly two dozen bovine animals including cows loaded in it. Sensing trouble, the occupants of the truck including its driver and the cleaner fled. Six people, including four cattle smugglers, have been arrested by police and half a dozen cattle rescued. Off late, Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch road has been emerging as favorite route among cattle smugglers for transporting bovine animals to Kashmir Valley via Mughal road. Earlier in April this year, the state police had rescued an over 200 bovines and arrested nearly half a dozen smugglers including Special Police Officer in border Rajouri and Poonch districts.
