Two beagles are now recovering after they were thrown out of a vehicle on an upstate New York highway and rescued by a truck driver on Wednesday. New York State Police said in a news release the incident happened on Interstate 81 in Whitney Point, located north of Binghamton. Troopers in the area came across a truck parked in the left lane of the highway around 9:30 a.m., and discovered the driver carrying one badly injured dog with another following behind him. "Troopers immediately rendered assistance to the injured dog," police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police's office in Homer at (607) 749-1614.
