Truck breakdown causing traffic chaos north of WellingtonTIM SAWYER A commuter's bus finally gets onto motorway into Wellington after two hours in traffic from Eastbourne through Petone. NZTA A traffic camera shows traffic at a standstill at the Petone onramp, heading south to Wellington. A witness to the truck breakdown said the vehicle was heading south when smoke started to billow from the truck. Its Regional Performance Manager Mark Owen said the first breakdown at 6.17am, the truck in the left-hand lane, had blocked southbound traffic into Wellington. Then just five minutes later, three cars and a motorbike collided in a nose-to-tail in the right-hand lane just north of the truck breakdown.
