State Highway 2 in Maramarua was closed while the burnt truck was cleared. A flaming truck and trailer closed State Highway 2 in Maramarua in the early hours of Wednesday. Fire and Emergency NZ were called to the burning truck at 3.07am, northern communications shift managed Daniel Nicholson said. It took about 40 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was well alight when fire crews arrived. The highway was blocked for two and a half hours, Waikato police Senior Sergeant Pete Simpson said.
