Truck and trailer engulfed by fire in Canterbury

A bystander has captured the moment a large truck went up in flames near railway lines in North Canterbury. Two fire crews responded to the truck which was “well ablaze” between Southbrook and Railway roads near the Rangiora Pak ‘n’ Save about 6.50am, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but was not thought to be suspicious, the spokesman said. The nearby railway lines were not affected by the fire, which was extinguished by firefighters within half an hour.
