Tropical storm Hermine will not whack the Maritimes as a hurricane, but it could bring some serious rain at the end of the long weekend, says CBC meteorologist Peter Coade. "In that position [it could] push its rain up over the Maritime provinces." Coade said he would expect 15 to 20 mm of rain on Monday on P.E.I. if this scenario plays out, but there is still a possibility of the storm's track changing and bringing no rain at all. In advance of the potential rain Monday it looks like the weekend will be mostly sunny, with temperatures near the seasonal highs of 20C to 22C.
