Tropical Storm Javier forms off Mexico's Pacific coast


The National Hurricane Center says that Tropical Storm Javier has formed off Mexico's Pacific Coast. A tropical storm watch is in effect from the southern part of the Baja California peninsula to Santa Fe. A tropical storm warning is in effect in Mexico from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes. Forecasters said Sunday that Javier had sustained winds of about 45 miles per hour and was located about 55 miles west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. Forecasters say Javier should pass over or near the southwest coast of Mexico later Sunday and approach southern portion of the Baja California peninsula on Monday.
