Three men have been sentenced to 40 months in jail respectively at the District Court today for their role in a bizarre toilet paper heist outside a Mong Kok supermarket last year. The three knife-wielding men were said to have threatened a delivery man outside a Wellcome supermarket in Mong Kok on February 17 last year, stealing 50 packets of toilet roll. The trio then loaded the toilet rolls in a trolley and fled the scene. However, the judge said although no one was hurt throughout the incident, the three’s actions were “premeditated” with the trio having armed with knives and had prepared a trolley for the heist. The judge, therefore, sentenced the three to 40 months in jail respectively.
