Rick Muelke, owner of the Muelke Family Tree Farm in Gilford, was busy Sept. 14 trimming back the firs and spruces on the farm in preparation for Christmas harvesting. He said he got started with growing trees as a kid at a 4-H meeting, where they gave out seedlings. Muelke said the farm is strictly cut-your-own, and he will sell the trees starting in November.
