There was pandemonium in Ajaokuta village, Ajaokuta local government area of Kogi State as a police officer allegedly killed a man during a political rally in the area. The deceased, Mallam Mohammed Ismail, was said to have been shot dead on Sunday during the declaration of intention of an aspirant to contest the local government election in the state. Sources stated that the chairmanship aspirant had put the programme together to unfold his plans to move the local government forward. The deceased who was said to be an HND graduate of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, was later buried around 7.30 pm on Sunday night. The Police Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Police Command, Mr William Ayah, who confirmed the incident, however, said the command had commenced a further investigation on it.
