Christian Wade (Wasps), first try v WorcesterJimmy Gopperth and Danny Cipriani, the twin play-makers, combined on the half-way line to release Wade, who fended off Bryce Heem’s attempted tackle and then accelerated clear, arcing his run to break through two more tackles and then skipping away from a fourth to score. Poor defending, yes, but in that mood Wade is a devastating finisher. He deserves a chance to show it for England on the summer tour. Alex Goode (Saracens) v BathBilly Vunipola pulled the pass back to Owen Farrell, who released Chris Ashton. The former England wing (and prospective Lion, if you listen to Mark McCall) cut back infield away from the covering defence and exchanged passes on the switch with Richard Wigglesworth.
