High Commissioner and representatives of Canada, Australia, European Union, Japan, Spain and Malaysia led by UK High Commissioner remembered the late soldiers. Major General Md Rashed Amin, commanding officer of 33 infantry placed wreath on behalf of Bangladesh. After laying the wreath, they stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the memory of the slain soldiers, died in Second World War. Some 738 soldiers were buried at Maynamati War Cemetery during Second World War from 1941 to 1945. Commonwealth Grave Commission takes care of the cemetery.
