Tribunal rules Wetang'ula remains Ford Kenya party leader

The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal on Friday ruled in favour of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula, declaring he remains the Ford Kenya party leader. Wetang'ula afterwards withdrew a case he had filed before the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal against secretary general Eseli Simiyu and Wafula Wamunyinyi, who was declared the new party chief. Simiyu had said Wetang'ula was being ejected for gross misconduct, having allegedly failed to unite the party and for moral impropriety. “Simiyu intends to register a purported list of purported ‘new officials’ for the party with the Registrar of political parties,” the Tribunal heard. The Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu this week gave notice of the intended changes by Ford Kenya party to its party officials.
