Tree planting in honour of grannies and granddads

A tree planting ceremony recently took place at St Patrick’s Church in Wicklow town in recognition of grandparents, great grandparents and the elders of the parish. The ceremony was held in recognition of all the great work they do for their families and the local community. Ann Marah picked up the gold shovel, and with the help of Fr Donal Roche, planted a beautiful Acer inside the gates of the Wicklow Pastoral Centre on the old De La Salle grounds. The occasion also allowed the Parish Hospitality Group to meet up and come together for the first time in 18 months, as they socially distanced over a cup of tea. Swift boxes, along with bee, bird and bat boxes were also recently installed in the Abbey Grounds to support and encourage biodiversity.
