Manchester United, Manchester City and clubs around the north west are in action this weekend with top-flight football returning following the international break. Ice can prove problematic for overhead cables, preventing them from drawing power they need to run - leaving trains standed. Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express customers have been warned not to travel north of Preston and Carlisle respectively, with the warning extended until Sunday by TransPennine. At the time of writing, it is not known what impact Storm Bert will have on passengers in the north of England.
