BENGALURU: Mobile travel sales in India are expected to rise at 67.1% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2017 to 2020, according to research from marketing technology firm Criteo Indian digital travelers are most influenced by travel website reviews, posts and forums, especially in the case of millennials . CAGR of consumer expenditure on leisure would be 9.9% from 2017 to 2020, added the report.This is already reflecting in the transactions of India’s largest online travel agency Makemytrip, which recently merged with Goibibo . Key players in the space include online travel agencies like (OTAs) like Makemytrip and Yatra, besides hotel booking players like Oyo Rooms. Global players like Bookings.com and Expedia are also present in the Indian market. Tech-savvy millennials primarily browse for best travel packages and in-destination activities through their mobile phones and OTA mobile apps.”
