Trash and recycling pickup in Philadelphia has been delayed by a day or more, as the number of city employees unavailable due to Covid-19 fluctuates on a daily basis, the department announced January 4. Despite this, the city managed to avoid suspending any services by cancelling employees’ days off and extending shifts.
