Construction of a transmission line with a transformer substation set to power Kenya’s own silicon valley is moving apace. “The construction of the 37.5km 400kV Isinya-Konza Transmission Line project is ongoing. The project involves the construction of a 400kV double circuit Transmission Line with a 400/220kV-2×350 MVA Transformer Substation at Konza Technopolis,” KETRACO said on X. The Konza substation, located about 70km south of the Kenyan capital Nairobi, is part of the Kenya Power Transmission Expansion Project (KPTEP). Work is ongoing on the 400kV Isinya-Konza Transmission Line project.
