A transgender doctor embroiled in a fiery row over sharing women's-only changing rooms has left the NHS. But she later won a landmark battle against NHS Fife who were found to have harassed her in what was hailed as a victory for women's rights. The health board admitted that it spent more than £400,000 on legal fees on the case. Dr Upton left the health service at the end of 2025, NHS Fife confirmed. Ms Peggie said she was 'beyond relieved' after Employment Judge Sandy Kemp found NHS Fife harassed her on four occasions.
