ECP transfers, posts 86 officers, dozens of them as district and regional election commissionersISLAMABAD: In a major reshuffle, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) transferred and posted on Wednesday 86 officers, dozens of them as district and regional election commissioners, across country. Of the three, two were deployed as regional election commissioners and one was promoted as director of the provincial election commission’s office in Lahore. ECP faces internal strife over reshuffleIn addition to district election commissioners in dozens of districts, regional election commissioners of Sukkur, Multan, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Mardan and Quetta have been changed. Nine of the reshuffled officers were working in the ECP secretariat in Islamabad, 26 were affiliated with the Punjab, 23 in Balochistan, 14 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and 13 in Sindh. Many officers, who were arbitrarily transferred in a similar move last year, were transferred back to their native areas.
