Portsmouth brushed aside Tranmere to record a ninth straight win in all competitions and move to within six points of the summit of League One. Goals either side of half-time from Sean Raggett and Ryan Williams saw off the struggling hosts. The opener came after just 13 minutes as Portsmouth profited from some statuesque defending. Rovers' response was spirited, with Andy Cook forcing Alex Bass into a couple of decent saves from close range. But Tranmere have now failed to score in four consecutive league games, and lacked confidence and conviction.
