Train services resume after cancellations, delays on Hutt Valley line

(File photo)Train services on the Hutt Valley line were delayed and cancelled due to a signal fault this morning but were expected to return to normal shortly after rush hour. Services from Melling were cancelled and buses ferried passengers between Petone and Wellington while other services on the line faced delays of up to 25 minutes. Jonathan Tullitt​, of operator Transdev, said contractors had located the fault shortly after 9am and he was expecting backlogs would “clear up pretty quickly”. Tullitt said Kiwirail were investigating the cause of the signal fault.
