Several hundreds of people flocked to the station as Bangladesh Railway started selling tickets at counters from Saturday after months-long hiatus due to Covid-19 pandemic. The passengers failed to buy the desired tickets for their journey due to its unavailability till September 20 as the authorities said the tickets till the date have already been sold online. Masud Sarwar, the station manager, said tickets for the September 21 journey were sold at the counters on Saturday as there were no tickets available till September 20. Last week, the railway authorities announced the start of sale of tickets at station counters from September 12 alongside its online sale. Bangladesh Railway started selling 50% tickets online from May 30 to avoid health risks amid the coronavirus outbreak.
