Our Special CorrespondentTaratala: A 35-year-old man died after a trailer hit the motorcycle he was riding and mowed him down in Taratala on Sunday evening. Witnesses said both Alam and the trailer were plying in the same direction along Rabindranagar Road. In front of Nature Park, where Taratala Road and Rabindranagar Road meet, the trailer suddenly slowed. "The motorcyclist slammed the brakes, too, before trying to overtake the goods vehicle," said Sheikh Nurul, who sells snacks at the crossing. "As the man drew abreast of the trailer, the driver of the goods vehicle accelerated, swerved to the right and hit the two-wheeler.
