TOUCH: The Manawatū under-16 girls have won the region's first title at the New Zealand youth championships. The Manawatū girls beat Counties Manukau 5-4 in the under-16 final of the National Youth Touch Championships in Papakura on Sunday. Counties Manukau did manage to score a try of their own, and the game went into the break with Manawatū leading 2-1. Counties Manukau fought back to level the scores 4-all, so with the scores tied at the end of regulation time, the game proceeded to a drop off.
