Tragedy struck a village when a 34-year-old fisherman was killed by a hippopotamus at Kisui Beach, Homabay County. Michael Otieno's body was found by divers a short distance from his floating boat, according to police. The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, December 27, as Otieno was fishing alone. The fishermen sensed danger and suspected he was the latest victim of hippopotamus attack. Police noted that such attacks are frequent in the area and advised fishermen to exercise caution while in the water.
