KUANTAN: Members of the public and highway workers joined hands this evening to move logs scattered across Km228.4 of Phase 1 East Coast Expressway (LPT1) near the Kuantan toll plaza. It is understood that the lorry, headed for Gambang, turned turtle in the 5pm incident and the logs came tumbling down, blocking all lanes. Concerned road users and highway personnel came together to push the large logs aside. Traffic from Km 228.8 to Km228.1 has been reported to be slow as only one lane is currently open. According to a spokesman from LPT1 concessionaire, Anih Bhd, its personnel are in the process of preparing a contra lane (alternative lane) to allow for smoother traffic.
