Parts of Dublin city centre remain closed to traffic overnight on Wednesday due to a tractor blockade by farmers. Kildare Street, Molesworth Street, St Stephen’s Green South, Merrion Square and Merrion Street remain closed to traffic with diversions in place. Traffic was brought to a standstill on Wednesday afternoon as tractors lined Westland Row and Lombard Street East. John Dallon, from Castledermott, Co Kildare said he and other farmers will continue to hold tractor blockades until the price of beef rises. Until they deal with the price of beef, until the price of beef is over the cost of production, then there’s going to be no change,” he said.
