ALOR STAR: TRAFFIC police Inspector S. Tivagaran ignored the “kindness” of two strangers who offered up to RM50,000, and proceeded to check their car and discoveredtwo pistols, live ammunition and drugs. Tivagaran, who serves at the Kota Star Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department, said he was with four policemen when they noticed the car. Declining to elaborate further as the case was under investigation, Tivagaran said the men’s generous offer had raised his suspicion. Also seized from the men were drugs worth RM65,000 and a packet of straws, believed to be used to pack the drugs. Tivagaran said the commendation by Asri inspired him to carry out his duties with greater loyalty to the force.
