Eye-catching: A stall of ‘Studio Tas’ that specialises in canvas photo prints at the exhibition organised by Goods of Desire in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. The century old Gothic structure’s owner Sonia Gupta, who renovated the heritage building last year, introduced this new concept of pop-up stores in the city which showcases the traditional weaves, crafts and traditions of the country under one platform. In the two-day pop show, there is a collection of traditional motifs from Varanasi in rich silks in one corner while another corner houses a collection of dresses in contemporary cuts. Bedsheets and table covers in a variety of fabrics and prints can be picked up at the exhibition. In the first floor, Loom Bazaar greets you with its range of handspun cotton fabric dresses and saris that are matched well with Kalamkari blouses.
