Traders in Delhi began a three-day shutdown on Friday to protest the BJP-led municipal corporations' drive to seal "illegal" shops, as the issue was raised by AAP MPs in the Rajya Sabha and the Centre-run Delhi Development Authority (DDA) offered some relief to agitators. All three AAP MPs raised the issue that has affected thousands of traders with Sanjay Singh shouting slogans and accusing the Centre of ruining the lives of seven lakh traders. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien said the same people disturbed the House in the morning during Zero Hour and were doing it again during Question Hour. Meanwhile, DDA approved three proposals — higher floor area ratios (FAR), reduced conversion charges and regularisation of agricultural godowns. The decision was taken by L-G Anil Baijal who is also DDA Chairman.
