Unlike litter such as coffee cups, plastic bags or cigarette butts, tampon applicators aren't usually discarded on the shoreline. But why are tampon applicators ending up on our shores in the first place? While tampon applicators are only used for a few seconds, plastic takes a long time to degrade.
