(File photo)Canterbury District Health Board is warning residents of North Canterbury’s Pegasus to stay out of the area’s lake – for the sixth summer in a row. Medical Officer of Health Cheryl Brunton issued a public health warning for Pegasus Lake on Monday after toxic blue-green algae, also known as planktonic cyanobacteria, was found there. Brunton said locals should avoid the lake and animals, particularly dogs, should not be allowed near the water until the health warning has been lifted.
