Somewhere, in a field in East Sussex, there are half a dozen salt-deprived cows. Friesians, I apologise — it was me who took your supplement last week. I was on holiday with my young family and two other families in a lovely converted farmhouse called New House Farm Country Retreat, on a break from London. Every morning we woke and breathed in the countryside. First we would jump over the steep ha-ha wall at the end of the garden and dodge the charging sheep below, running in our skinny jeans and unsuitably white trainers, until we found a gate.
