The Port Chalmers town hall complex has had a spruce-up. Scaffolding around the town hall and library complex was put up towards the end of last year and came down recently, revealing the $98,949 spruce-up. Port Chalmers Day on Saturdaywill feature artisan markets, buskers, shopping, face-painting and food trucks from 11am. The town hall building was constructed in 1889 and services it hosted ranged from the court house to customs and fire brigade offices. Portobello Coronation Hall, Karitane Hall, the West Taieri District War Memorial Hall in Outram and the Green Island Civic Hall have had minor upgrades.
