The bank contributed RM150,000 to the fund that has enabled members of the public to support the work of medical frontliners during the Covid-19 pandemic. The initiative under Star Foundation was launched by Star Media Group (SMG) to purchase medical equipment and other needed supplies for hospitals fighting the outbreak. He added that the Star Frontliners Initiative had raised more than RM2.5mil, which included Star Foundation’s RM1mil pledge. Abrar said Standard Chartered was happy to support the Star Frontliners Initiative. He said that globally, the multinational bank had pledged almost US$50mil (RM213.8mil) for Covid-19 relief and post-Covid-19 recovery efforts.
