R Thirumani, a resident of Chennai, suffered head injuries after being hit by a stone during the rampage in the morning, a police official said. He was taken to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences at Soura on the outskirts of Srinagar, where he succumbed to injuries. “My head hangs in shame,” said CM Mehbooba Mufti on the killing of the tourist. The attack on the tourists came just five days after tourists were attacked by stone-pelters in south Kashmir which caused severe head injuries to Ritu Devi, a tourist from Mumbai. A case was filed and investigations have been taken up in the matter, according to police officials.
