General News of Thursday, 27 December 2018Source: Daniel KakuTourism Minister cuts sod for redevelopment of Axim Victoria Park into Ceremonial GroundsCatherine Afeku, Minister for Tourism at the sod cutting ceremonyThe Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Catherine Abelema Afeku popularly known as 'Nzema Yaa Asantewaa' on behalf of President Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for redevelopment of the Axim Victoria Park into a Ceremonial Grounds to boost tourism activities in the area. The facility is part of Axim Tourism Development Enclave project being executed by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) to develop tourist places into standard ones. He revealed that government is in consultation with the Italian government to renovate the Fort St. Antonio as part Axim Tourism Development Enclave project. He said if the redevelopment of Axim Victoria Park facility completed it will help tourists who will visit the Fort for relaxation. "Let us rally behind President Akufo-Addo and his government and also pray hard for President Akufo-Addo for wisdom and long life and develop our area", he pleaded.
