Tourism Development Assistance Fund approvedPrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc approved the creation of the Tourism Development Assistance Fund at the National Meeting for Tourism Development. The objective of the Fund is to boost investment in product development, train and develop human resources, and improve institutional capacity in the tourism sector. Funding sources will include visa fees, tourism fees, and contributions from tourism enterprises, organizations, individuals and other sources under law. National Tourism Year 2016 kicked off on April 10 on Phu Quoc Island, off the coast of the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang province. National Tourism Year 2017 will be hosted by Lao Cai province, in Vietnam’s northern mountainous area.
