Tough Olympic Games debut for Southland's Corbin Strong

New Zealand’s Campbell Stewart, left, and Corbin Strong take part on the Madison event at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Corbin Strong’s Olympic Games debut turned into a tough slog in Tokyo on Saturday night. The Southlander lined up in the Madison event alongside Campbell Stewart on day 15 of the Olympic Games. Alena Saili was part of the Black Ferns team which claimed gold and as a result, Saili became just the second Southlander to win an Olympic Games gold medal. Saili is currently in MIQ in Christchurch but plans to travel to Invercargill with her gold medal when that is completed.
