The man, aged in his 20s, has been rushed to an east London hospital after been shot on Fladbury Road, Tottenham. Police, including an armed response unit, arrived at the scene at 1.43pm to reports of shots fired and found the man with gunshot injuries. There has been great concern over levels of violent crime - especially knife crime involving young men - in London this year. A spike in violent crime in London saw more murders committed in the UK capital than in New York, which has a similar population size, in February and March for the first time ever. In response to the rise in killings, the Met Police put more officers on the streets, including its Violent Crime Taskforce.
