Tottenham have made an audacious move for Edinson Cavani as Jose Mourinho continues his search for a striker to stand in for the injured Harry Kane . Turkish outlet Aksam report, though, that Tottenham were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Cavani and have been forced to reignite their interest Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi. Cavani’s preference for a move to Atletico means Tottenham are now lining up a fresh offer for Muriqi, after a bid earlier this month was knocked back. Spurs are apparently set to propose a £20m deal for the 25-year-old, who only joined Fenerbahce from Caykur Rizespor last summer and has since scored 11 goals in 17 Super Lig appearances. Muriqi, who stands at 6ft 4in, would offer a focal point in attack for Tottenham, who are set to be without Kane until April after he underwent surgery on a hamstring injury.
