TOTTENHAM, ONT.—A woman is dead and two people have been injured after an overnight house fire in Tottenham, Ont. The New Tecumseth Fire Dept., says firefighters arrived at the scene of the blaze in the single-storey residence to find “heavy fire conditions,” which also damaged an adjoining home. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire in the community about 50 kilometres northwest of Toronto. Jeffy Tebby, a supervisor with Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal, said the home suffered extensive damage. He said investigators will be trying to determine if there were working smoke alarms in the home and will be looking at potential causes for the fire.
