Tottenham failed in a surprise late bid to sign the top scorer in the Chinese Super League Eran Zahavi. According to the Daily Telegraph , Spurs made a desperate attempt to solve their attacking crisis by bringing Zahavi in on loan from Guangzhou R&F. The Israel international emerged as a shock target after talks over a potential deal with Shanghai Shenhua star Odion Ighalo fell through.
