Spurs have been eager to bring in a new option at centre-half early in the January transfer window, identifying Romania international as their top target. Having opened talks with Genoa last week, Tottenham are now close to sealing a £25million deal including add-ons to bring the 21-year-old to north London. But Spurs are now believed to have won the race for his signature with an agreement now close. To sweeten the deal, Spence has been offered to the Italian side after his loan spell at Leeds United was cut short last week. Tottenham are also expected to wrap up a loan move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
